NFL Thursday Night Selection from Oscar

Well, finally the NFL season is here and like Gamer always says "It should be a good one" tonight as the Vikings battle the Saints in a rematch of last's years NFC Championship Game. Here is my selection:

451 Minnesota +5 -1.10 $275 to win $250 - PUSH-I bet the Vikings in the game last year plus the points and I will come right back with them in this game tonight. First off, let's look at the public betting on this game according to Sportsbook.com which shows the Saints with a 79-21% spread edge yet the line is beginning to creep down. While this is not always a perfect science I like the fact that the public is betting the favorite yet Vegas seems to be looking for more Saints money. The Vikings outgained the Saints in that game last year 475-257 but were done in by 5 TO's and I really thought that Minnesota was going to win the Super Bowl last year. Favre returns tonight with all the offseason drama put aside and he will not have Rice at WR but the veteran QB still can win a big game as he proved last year. I really think Minnesota has a decided advantage in this game at defense and my hopes are that all the pregame parades, parties and such will have the Saints not as focused to win tonight as the Vikings are. The Saints are very capable of blowing out Minnesota tonight as well but I have to think the underdog will compete hard here and if not win, lose by a FG.

A push to start out the year, however lost the two college games so a bad night at least for me.
